This is a simple way to identify URL inconsistencies on your website and find URLs that are accessible both with and without trailing slashes. As silly as it may seem, otherwise identical URLs with and without the trailing slash are seen as unique. This can cause issues with how link equity is distributed on your site. I’m not a big believer in keyword cannibalization, but this can certainly cause it. On really large sites, this can also impact the crawl budget.
