Search Console Dashboard for Google Data Studio

I usually do most of my data sorting and analysis for Google Search Console in Google Sheets or Excel where it is easy to filter and work with data, but I know a few people who struggle with spreadsheets. You can do this inside of Google Search Console itself, but it tends to be pretty slow and clunky, especially if you start working with a lot of rows.

To help those who are a little less technically inclined I have been working on this Dashboard for Google Data Studio for a few weeks now.

Feel free to grab a copy and adjust it any way you want.

At the top is a selector which will let you choose any site you have access to in Search Console. You can select a date range, device types, and specific countries.

If you want to sort data by just one specific URL, choose a landing page.

The 3 filters along the bottom give you a few options. First is average position. Want to see keywords ranking between 11-15 to find ones that need a little extra work to get to page 1? You can do that.

Looking for all search terms that contain a specific word or phrase? Use the query filter for that. You could also exclude terms. Useful if you want to remove all brand related terms from the data.

The last option lets you set a range for impressions. If you want to filter out all search terms with less than 1000 impressions or just look for terms with over 25,000 impressions, you would use this filter.

I’m working on a second page for this dashboard that will let me sort month over month data to identify traffic and ranking changes, but GDS is not playing nice. I can get it to work for one specific site, but not with the Search Console selector at the top.

If I get that knocked out, I’ll update this dashboard.

In the meantime, feel free to snag a copy of this for yourself if you are one of those spreadsheet challenged people or just think you would find this useful.
